John Edwards // VP of Business Development
In his current role, John is managing CMC’s business activities while creating and implementing strategies and coordinating cross business growth initiatives. John is also responsible for managing and strengthening relations with existing customers in order to maximize CMC’s delivery of service and solutions with a vast array of customers from schools to hospitals and from financial institutions to restaurants and food services.
John has enjoyed a career in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning industry, starting in 2003 as a Sales Engineer for Carrier Corporation. While at Carrier, John was awarded the 2003 Carrier Sales Boot Camp Winner and was also awarded the Carrier Global Sales Award in 2004. During his tenure at Carrier Corporation, John had the opportunity of rebuilding New Orleans, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina into a much stronger and energy efficient manner which he also received local awards for his partnerships with the community and the City of New Orleans. Most recently, John joined Corporate Mechanical Contractors, Inc. d/b/a (CMC Corporate Solutions) in 2008. With a business motto taken from Booker T. Washington, “It’s better to serve, then be served”, John strives every day to deliver and serve the very best results to the demanding issues in our society.
John is also a School Board Member for Algiers Charter School Association which is the largest charter school association in Louisiana. He is also a member of International Facility Management Association (IFMA), a global organization aimed at promoting smart technology and building practices in the 21st century.
John received a Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace Science Engineering from Tuskegee University in 2003 and a Masters in Public Administration from Louisiana State University in 2010.
